An innovative approach to fight climate change through sustainable forestry and improved forest management, focusing on carbon sequestration. The Carbon Reserve consists of multiple Carbon Parks that all are managed and operated according to the Forest Management Methodology which is a research paper made with best universities on the field.
GreenDeal Carbon Park is a tree planting project started by the GreenDeal to engage communities and companies to take positive action towards environment. The goal of the project is to plant 1 000 000 trees and create the first Carbon Park in the Carbon Reserve with the help of everybody who care about the nature and the forests.
If we reach the 1 000 000 tree target then the estimated CO2 sequestration over the lifetime of the forest is 350 000 tCO2e. As the sequestration depends of the amount of trees, soil quality of the land, tree spieces and many other factors then we will get a better estimation when all the trees are planted.
Our commitment is to plant all forests within 18 months from the deadline of the project (Spring 2025). That is due to seasons (as it’s possible to plant forests only during spring and autumn time) and all the activities needing to take place before the planting to ensure the quality of the impact.
For the planting to take place we go through a series of activities to ensure the best result possible for the actual impact on the world. We find and buy the land, make soil analysis, choose the best suitable tree types for the land, mineralise and prepare the land, plan the planting and find the remarkable people to actually take the plants to their new home. The process has many more steps but those are the primary ones.
All the plants are grown in the nursery of Eesti Taimekasvatus which produces plants especially for the soil and forests in Estonia & Latvia. No foreign seeds or plants are used.
The first Carbon Park of the GreenDeal Carbon Reserve is being established in Estonia and Latvia. The lands are chosen based of their favorable conditions for rapid tree growth and high-quality forests. All the forests are planted on grasslands to ensure the actual additional impact for the world.
The main tree spices are spruce, pine and birch focusing on their benefits for carbon sequestration, biodiversity, and fit for the forest ecosystem in Baltics.
All the Carbon Parks and the forests within are managed according to the research done with the scientists to maximise the carbon sequestration and health of the forests. The forests are managed throughout their lifetime!
A team of dedicated specialists actively manages the forest through its entire lifecycle, adhering to a scientifically-developed methodology for maximal carbon sequestration. All the forests in all Carbon Parks are PEFC certified to ensure the management quality expected.
Every contribution helps in planting more trees, enhancing biodiversity, and fostering a sustainable ecosystem for future generations. When goal met the GreenDeal Carbon Park will sequester approximately 350 000 tCO2e which is equivalent to approximately 76 000 cars yearly emissions. So it does make a difference!

The health and growth of the trees is being monitored by the best specialists in the field. We use satellite systems, in-person monitoring and also incorporate a 3rd party certifier PEFC. Thanks to our work with universities we can provide a yearly Impact Analysis about the GreenDeal Carbon Park forests, and their sequestration process.
